PEDRO MOUTINHO | HOUSE OF WATER
25 JANEIRO 2025

Pedro Moutinho He was rocked by the sound of fado and grew up with it as if it were a genetic inheritance. There is no separation between fado and the man who sings it. Yes, there is a familiar fluidity between one and the other, natural to those who have known each other for a long time.
CASA D'ÁGUA is the title of the new album by Pedro Moutinho. This album is the result of the sum of two distinct but complementary parts: CASA and ÁGUA, the names of the two EPs that preceded the release of the album. These two elementary nouns thus serve to shelter, through their characteristics, fados and songs.

In CASA, the fado singer immerses himself in the paths of Traditional Fado to offer the public a raw record that is familiar to him. In ÁGUA, he interprets songs, flowing, adapting and molding his characteristic register to compositions from other musical universes.
To help him with this aim, he had several important contributions. He was joined by timeless authors, and others, contemporary. Fellow fado singers, composers and poets, were the artisans who wove words and melodies to which he gave body and voice. Carlos Conde, Martinho da Assunção, Maria do Rosário Pedreira, Teresinha Landeiro, Pedro Castro, Francisca Cortesão, Mário Laginha, João Correia, Carminho, Filipe Raposo, Amélia Muge and João Monge are some of the names that make up the cast.

Pedro Moutinho He doesn't need to abandon tradition to take new flights and this reflects his identity as a fado singer and gives him the courage to take on new stages. This debut, in his own name, at the Tivoli BBVA Theater is therefore a natural consequence of his journey.
