Considered one of the most successful Fado singers of our time, Cristina Branco has always had a very broad musical horizon.
His first role models all came from jazz: Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Joni Mitchell.
On his eighteenth birthday, his grandfather gave him an album by Amália Rodrigues.
That's where Cristina Branco discovers Fado for herself, doing something unique starting with the unusual accompaniment of the Portuguese guitar, piano and double bass.
With Mário Laginha, an internationally renowned Portuguese pianist, they were invited by the prestigious Bigband of Rádio Frankfurt to present Portuguese music in concert with arrangements for jazz orchestra, which were the responsibility of Laginha and Luís Figueiredo.
In this concert these arrangements will be presented with the Hot Clube de Portugal Jazz Orchestra, directed by Pedro Moreira, Mário Laginha on the piano and with the Voice of Cristina Branco.
A dialogue between Fado and Jazz, a unique experience not to be missed.
