Swan Lake | Kiev Ballet
06 and 08 December 2024

“Swan Lake” is one of the most famous ballets in the world and expresses emotions through the beauty and delicacy of the dance. The masterpiece of the classical universe, with choreography by Marius Petipa and music by Piotr Tchaikovsky, reminds us that even in the darkest moments there is always a light.

The story of an impossible love between Prince Siegfried and Odette, a young woman transformed into a swan by the sorcerer Von Rothbart, is told through the very technical and virtuoso movements of the Kiev Ballet dancers.

This classic and timeless work, more than a century old, highlights a very pertinent theme, the duality between good and evil, represented by the purity of the white swan (Odette) and the duplicity of Odile, black swan and daughter of the sorcerer.

The dancers of the Kiev Ballet are also distinguished by the care and delicacy of traditions and by maintaining the essence of classical ballet, thus staging this story of love, magic and tragedy even when, in the real world, they continue to witness an endless war. in your country.

Kiev Ballet was born in 2017, from a dream of the famous solo dancer of the Kiev Opera Theater, Viktor Ishchuk: the creation of a young company that would bring together the most prominent stars from all over Ukraine and present talent, mastery to the world and the professionalism of artists in your country.

Their first performances conquered the most important theaters in the world and, since then, they have given more than 600 shows in different countries, including Portugal, always with sold out sessions.
