Artistic director and choreographer Ján Durovcík presents a unique and original fusion of two Slovak ensembles, a spectacle of spontaneous and unbridled culture of wandering gypsies in a new and exciting musical. The Slovak Dance Theater and the Gypsy Devils Orchestra present the musical “Gypsies go to Heaven” inspired by the legendary story of Moldovan director Emil Loteanu, praised all over the world. The original film is based on the short stories of Maxim Gorky and is set in the northeastern part of the former Austro-Hungarian monarchy.
