'TASTING FADO': A JOURNEY TO THE COUNTRY'S HERITAGE AT THE TIVOLI BBVA THEATER

Every Friday and Saturday, at the end of the day, visitors have the opportunity to discover the secrets of the theater, enjoy a pastel de nata and Port wine with the hymn of saudade as a backdrop, in the attic of the Lisbon cine-teatro .

'Tasting Fado', an initiative by Teatro Tivoli BBVA, developed by the production company UAU, promotes a journey through the history, art and gastronomy of Portugal. The experience takes place on Fridays and Saturdays, at 7pm. Entrance costs €20 per person and tickets are on sale at ticketline.

The history of the Tivoli BBVA Theater is now open with the 'Tasting Fado' initiative, which provides a guided tour of the concert hall with the most roses in Portugal as well as a journey through the Portuguese sounds and flavors. This is a journey through Portuguese heritage in what is the country's first cinema theater and national monument, which in 2024 celebrates its centenary.

The visit to the Theater ends in the cine-theater's Sótão Café, where the essence of Portuguese culture will be experienced: visitors have the opportunity to watch a live fado session, accompanied by viola and Portuguese guitar.

Fado is melancholic, it sings of saudade and visitors will be treated to an intimate performance, whilst enjoying a glass of Port wine and a pastel de nata in the space where 20th century cinema machines are on display.
